I would like to apologize for not getting the minutes out for October. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for letting me serve. I look forward to serving the SI Area for years to come.

SI Area H&I Report
Hi I am an addict my name is Joann. Nichole was elected as our Secretary. We have currently have 12 meetings. We have 3 meetings that are not going in. Monday UHS @7:30 P.M., Wednesday MICA @ South Beach and Friday AK Prison. There is Regional Learning Day on November 20, 2004 @ the RSC office in Manhattan H&I Part will be 2:00 – 3:00 PM . There’s a regional H&I learning day on December 4, 2004 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. We will have elections for all positions in December.

Jackie P was nominated for Webmaster. She accepted the nomination. Her qualifications are as follows:
I have served in all positions on the group level. I have served the SI Area as Secretary for 2 years. I have also served SI Area as Chair and Vice Chair as well as Asst Treasurer. I have served on S.I.’s H&I Committee for 2+ years. I have attended many learning days for H&I, PI and Helpline. I have served as the MC of the Music fest held in Staten Island in the 90’s. I have served the Regional Helpline for several years as first a volunteer, then as an orientator, then as the Regional Helpline Treasurer and Vice Chair. Every year for over 10 years I cook for the Gratitude Dance and often help serve. I helped to develop, design and implement the www.siarea.com website and currently keep the website updated. SI Area’s website meets all NAWS & Regional Guidelines for NA websites.
I have a working knowledge of the 12 & 12 and a NA sponsor with a sponsor. I have never been asked to step down from any commitment. I have excellent computer skills and have even gained some web building skills recently. I have served the NA fellowship since I had 90 days clean and continue to do so. I have 11 years and 10 months clean. I have willingness to serve.

I am an addict interested in the position of Asst. Treasurer. I have held every group level commitment and several treasury commitments. I have 17 years clean and a willingness to serve.
I have held this commitment for several months and will try to the best of my ability to hold the commitment full term.

I have served on a Regional commitment for Freedom XVII Convention. I have also served as literature management for the past year and 3 months. I have a sponsor with a sponsor with a working knowledge of the 12 & 12. I have a willingness to serve.

Time frame motion from OCTOBER from the E & A Committee:
To approve the joint venture between MASC & SIACS to feature a Boat Ride Event.
Intent: To further carry the message.
Pro’s and Con’s were discussed and then went to a vote.
MOTION PASSED
Projected Budget for Boat Ride:
Cost of Boat $5,300
DJ $350
Hospitality $350
Tkts/Flyers $100
Total $6100
This is the total budget. Since this will be a joint venture SI Area ‘s cost will be $3050.00. If tickets are prices @ $25 per person the return will be $10625. Our net would be $5312.50, making our profit $2,262.50.
Time frame motion:
The amount needed from the area to secure the boat will be $1600.
Intent: To bring unity and carry the message to tha addict who still suffers.
Pro’s and Con’s were discussed and the motion went to a vote.
Motion passes.
New Group: Surrender on Saturday meets at 11am until noon 1950 Forest Ave (Daytop Facility) extra half hour on days anniversaries are celebrated. Rotating format concept, pamphlet, beginners, Just ForToday meditation.
Recovery In The War Zone will be open again after the 21st of Sept. We meet at 6:30 PM.
Serenity on Saturday meets at 141 Parkhill Ave Saturday morning at 11AM and needs support. This meeting is in jeopardy of closing.
